THANK YOU!!!

I can’t say it enough…words cannot express my sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone who helped me win the Obama caucus yesterday to become a delegate for CD9!

If you haven’t heard, because of everyone’s hard work, we received the second highest number of votes at the CD9 Obama caucus, earning the support of almost ¼ of the 971 community members that came out to vote (http://www.cadem.org/site/c.jrLZK2PyHmF/b.4026365/). This means I am now a delegate and will be going to the Democratic National Convention in proud support of Senator Obama.

This would not have been possible without you. Thank you for telling everyone about the caucus through emails, phone calls, and even facebook.

For those of you that could make the caucus: THANK YOU.

Thank you for bringing folks with you – I met partners, parents, roommates, and friends.

Thank you for holding signs and passing out lit – here’s a picture of Brian Kim in line with a sign (http://www.californiaprogressreport.com/)

Thank you for talking to voters and “caucusing” for me – shout out to Andy Kelley and Ted McCombs!

Thank you for driving voters to the caucus – yay to Cal Dems, SFBO, and CalSERVE :)

I’ve never really had a website before, so a big thank you to Keith Kamisugi for all of the help.

A huge thank you to Teddy Miller and Albert Lin – we will always be “Young Progressives for Obama.”

Thank you to my wonderful sister (I love you Soomi) and awesome WOC campaign strategists Angelica Jongco, Mónica Henestroza, and Tiffany Batac.

And finally, thank YOU for the words of encouragement, support, and inspiration.

I hope to make y’all proud and I can’t wait for the convention so that we can win the Democratic nomination and then put Barack Obama in the White House in November!

With warmest regards,

Jenn Pae

Phone Script:

Hi XXX, it’s XXX. How are you doing? Wonderful!

So I just sent you an email about my great friend Jenn Pae who’s running to be delegate for Senator Obama.

Jenn has had experience as a student organizer, trainer, and progressive advocate, which has helped make her an effective Obama precinct captain, volunteer, and member of Asian Americans for Obama.

She’s running to be a delegate at the National Democratic Convention because she believes as a young woman and a daughter of Korean immigrants, that this country is heading down the wrong path and we must take an active role in changing it. We have a lot at stake and she would like the opportunity to continue the momentum that young people have played an influential role in to serve as a delegate for CD9 to ensure that Obama is the next president.

Will you be able to come to the caucus tomorrow (Sunday April 13th) at 2pm? It’s at the Beebe Memorial Cathedral at 3900 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland, CA 94609.

(If yes) Great, thank you so much! Can you bring some other folks with you too?

(If no) Is there anyone else you know that can go?

Thanks again and we’ll talk again soon, take care!

**Please email jennpae@gmail.com with how many people will be coming :)

Asking For Your Support

It is time to take back our country!  As many of you know, I have been extremely ecstatic in my support for Senator Obama.  I sincerely trust and believe he is the best candidate and hope that he will win the presidency; this is why I’m writing you and why I’m running to be an Obama delegate.

As a young woman and a daughter of Korean immigrants, I cannot sit idly by and let the next 25 years of my life continue down this course.  My generation has played an integral role in Senator Obama’s candidacy and I would like the opportunity to continue this momentum by serving as an Obama delegate for CD9.  This district includes Albany, Ashland, Berkeley, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Emeryville, Fairview, Piedmont, and where I live – Oakland.

Previously, I served as a National Officer for the United States Student Association and have experience as a student organizer, trainer, and progressive advocate.  As an Obama precinct captain, volunteer, and member of Asian Americans for Obama, I have called voters, knocked on doors, and organized community members in Oakland, San Francisco, Nevada, and Texas.  I have also been fortunate to help provide Obama coverage online and in ethnic media.

So with all of this said … I need your help!

If you know any folks - family, friends, coworkers, basically anyone – that are in CD9, please have them join me at the Obama Caucus.  Here’s the info:

Sunday April 13th @ 2pm
Beebe Memorial Cathedral
3900 Telegraph Avenue
Oakland, CA 94609

Things to Know:
1) Registered Democrats can vote at the caucus, you can even register or re-register on site, as long as you’re 18 by November 4, 2008 – Election Day.
2) Registration begins at 2pm and the caucus begins at 3pm
3) You may cast your vote after you register and then leave or stay and help me organize more votes :)

If people need a ride, please let me know.  If you have a car and you’re available, please bring a car load of supporters, every vote counts in this highly competitive race.  Let me know if you or anyone else can make it.

If you are available Friday April 11th from 4:00-8:00pm, come volunteer to make calls – I’ll even provide food!

I hope that you will join me in making history by supporting my candidacy to be an Obama delegate for CD9.  Please help spread the word!

My site is under development and will be up and running soon. In the meantime, feel free to email me with any questions. Thanks!
